01What we have done

This website was built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That is the standard UK public bodies are held to, and we chose to work to it even though we are a private company.

  • Every image carries alternative text describing what it shows
  • Colour contrast was measured, not eyeballed — two of our own brand colours failed and were darkened
  • The whole site can be operated by keyboard, with a visible focus outline
  • Every page has one heading structure, so a screen reader can navigate it
  • A "skip to content" link comes first on every page
  • Video is muted, never plays sound unexpectedly, and carries visible controls
  • Nothing depends on colour alone to convey meaning
  • Text reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320px

02What we know is imperfect

Publishing a list of failures is unusual. We would rather you knew.

Video captions
Our process clips have no captions. They are silent and show only hands and machinery, so no information is lost — but they are not captioned and we are not claiming otherwise.
Heading levels
On a few pages a heading jumps from level 1 to level 3 inside card layouts. It is navigable but not textbook.
The before-and-after sliders
These work by keyboard, but the experience is better with a mouse or touch. Both images are also shown separately in the gallery below each slider, so nothing is only available through the slider.
Downloadable PDFs
Our policy PDFs are generated with tagged text and are readable by screen readers, but they have not been through a full PDF/UA audit.

None of these has been left because it was inconvenient. They are on the list.

03How we tested

Contrast ratios were calculated programmatically against the WCAG formula rather than judged by eye. Structure, alternative text, heading order and keyboard operation were checked page by page across all 35 pages.

We have not commissioned an independent audit, and we are not claiming one. If a client requires formal certification we will say so honestly rather than imply we have it.

04If something does not work

If any part of this site is difficult to use, tell us and we will fix it — and in the meantime we will give you the same information another way.

We aim to respond within one working day. If you need a quotation, a specification or a compliance document in a different format — large print, plain text, or read to you over the phone — ask and we will provide it at no cost.

05Enforcement

These regulations apply to public sector bodies rather than to a private company like ours, so we are not subject to them. We work to the same standard anyway, because a cleaning company's website should not be harder to use than it needs to be.

If you are unhappy with how we respond to an accessibility problem, tell us first. We would rather hear it than not.
