Social value

What we commit to, and what we can show you.

Most cleaning companies publish a policy. A policy says what a company would do. This page says what we do, with a number and a date against each commitment — and where we have not started something yet, it says that too.

Fair work

The people who clean your building work for us.

The people who clean your site are ours. We do not use agency labour and we do not subcontract cleaning to another company. On contract accounts our operatives are directly employed, and the person who cleaned your office last week is the person who will clean it next week.

This is the single biggest structural difference between Cleanfinity and most of the sector, and it is the reason the other things on this page are possible at all. You cannot train, vet, retain or take responsibility for people you do not employ.

The Real London Living Wage, from August 2026

The Real London Living Wage

We pay the Real London Living Wage to every member of our team — £14.80 an hour, from August 2026. It is calculated independently each year against what it actually costs to live in London, and it is higher than the legal minimum.

We are not accredited by the Living Wage Foundation. We pay the rate; we have not gone through their accreditation process. We would rather tell you exactly what is true than imply something that isn’t.

Local employment

We recruit within ten miles of the sites we clean.

A cleaner with a twenty-minute journey turns up. A cleaner with a ninety-minute journey eventually doesn’t, and then your building has a stranger in it. Recruiting locally is not only a social commitment — it is the most reliable operational decision we make.

100% of our team live within ten miles of the site they work on — the nearest 2.5 miles, the furthest 2.9. Measured August 2026. Reviewed annually.

Skills

Training that leads somewhere.

Our founder holds the BICSc Licence to Practice — the British Institute of Cleaning Science qualification covering safe working practice, risk assessment, electrical safety and the correct handling of equipment and chemicals. Every operative is trained to that standard and works to it on site, and each is trained to the specification of their building before working on it unsupervised.

Where someone wants to build a career rather than take a job, the BICSc pathway is the route we use. Training hours per head will be published once we have a full year of them.

Environment

What we can actually count.

We work to our published Environmental Sustainability Policy across products, waste, consumables and how our teams travel between sites. We are early in measuring it properly, and we would rather show you a short list that is true than a long one that isn’t.

For procurement teams

How this maps to PPN 026.

The Social Value Model changed on 5 August 2026. PPN 026 replaces the five themes of PPN 002 with two outcomes — good jobs and skills — and applies to central government procurements from 1 January 2027. Everything below is what we can evidence against it today, including what we cannot.

Outcome 1

Good jobs

1aCreate and retain high quality jobs

We employ our cleaning operatives directly rather than buying labour in. Jobs are created in the boroughs the contracts sit in — 100% of our team live within ten miles of the site they work on, the furthest 2.9 miles. Measured August 2026.

1bFair working conditions

Contracts carry guaranteed minimum weekly hours. Cover for holiday and sickness comes from our own team, briefed on your building beforehand, rather than from an agency. Statutory Sick Pay is paid, and we do not use agency labour on any site.

Not yet claimed: we are taking employment advice on how our cover arrangements are classified before we make any statement about contract types.

1cFair pay

£14.80 an hour minimum — the Real London Living Wage, from August 2026. Independently calculated each year against the cost of living in London, and above the statutory minimum. Every agreement carries a statutory-wage review clause exercised each April.

We are not accredited by the Living Wage Foundation. We pay the rate; we have not been through their accreditation.

Outcome 2

Skills

2aTraining and retraining

Our founder holds the BICSc Licence to Practice, valid to August 2029 — safe working practice, risk assessment, electrical safety, and the handling of equipment and chemicals. Every operative is trained to that standard, and to the written specification of their building before working on it unsupervised.

2bIn-work progression

Where someone wants a career rather than a job, the BICSc pathway is the route we use. Retention is the measure that matters here, and ours is the reason the same faces stay on the same buildings.

We will publish training hours per head once we have a full year of them.

2cTalent pipeline

Nothing to claim yet. We are a small team and have not run work placements or apprenticeships. When we do, it will appear here with a number and a date, not before.

Environmental commitments sit outside PPN 026, which covers jobs and skills only. Ours are on this page and in our Environmental Sustainability Policy because private clients and many public bodies still ask for them.

Evidence

What each of these commitments looks like on a site.

Social value written as policy is easy. These are photographs from real jobs, showing the four claims above as they actually appear.

Beyond the UK

Puente

Puente is Spanish for bridge. Our family is from Loja and Quito, in Ecuador. Cleanfinity was built here in London, but it was built by a family that started there — and every year we commit a fixed sum to supporting families in both cities.

We don’t do it because it looks good in a tender. It won’t score in one; UK social value is measured on UK impact, and we’re clear about that. We do it because it’s where we’re from.
